Default My ace gig moment!

Saw Gratitude play Liverpool tonight - Jonah being one of my all-time greatest musical heroes EVER - and the gig was ACE! Why this band aren't the biggest act in the world, I don't know, but SURELY they should be huge. Anyway, they manage to create the best atmosphere, a real feeling of a special gig, Jonah working the crowd, flawless musicianship etc etc. Gig finishes, I'm fucking ecstatic at how great it was, I got to chat to Jonah pre-show, then they come back on for the encore. The guitarist has broken a string, so there's only one song they can play - "The only song MORE rockin' that the Quo" - The fucking WILDHEARTS! "You Got to Get Through..."

If you know me, you know I'll have shit my pants at Jonah playing a song by my favourite band, but when it gets to the chorus, Jonah's down the front, and who is the only bastard in the crowd of dyed-balck hair Atreyu wannabes and screamy-teens to know the words? Yep, ME! So me and Jonah SCREAM the chorus together, nose-to-nose before he heads off to the other end of the stage after giving me the biggest grin and thanks. Spoke after, and I was the first to know the all words since they started playing it, and promised to learn 29x the Pain for the next time!

Yes, I gush like a little girl! Yes, I am fan-boy uber-nerd, and I diven't give a FUCK!

Rockin'!

Aye, Jonah from Far. Gratitude are bordering on kinda stadium rock - hints of U2 and "Holy Bible" era manics. But super-ace.
