Its been a while, in fact probably a year, but STML finally return to play aberdeen on Friday 22nd July at Cafe Drummond. Also on the bill are Black Atom and Double Jack.
STML are second on the bill and hit the stage at 10.45. Door price is £2 Since their last trip to Aberdeen, where they played Drakes, STML have been travelling around the country picking up some decent reviews along the way. So if you like your music with a big dirty guitar sound, loud vocals and short fast songs then come on down and check them out. There will be CD's T-shirts and badges available for sale on the night, at reasonable prices. "STML sound somewhat like the big guitar style of The Queens of the stone age and Muse, mixed with the ferocious lyrical vitriol of the likes of Killing Joke and System of a Down. The result is a socially aware rock band that has removed any trace of pretentious over indulgence to provide songs that are pure, honest, riff laden stabs of groove based attitude. Incorporating big radio friendly choruses that are catchy enough to ensure you sing along to as you charge along the highway on your beloved motorbike, or skateboard, or, whatever... In short they play sets full of short fast songs with no room for ballads. Its a pure case of, heads down see you at the end." "Wielding a cannon of hard hitting, radio friendly, hook laden, heavy riff rock that’s been road tested and honed to a diamond hard perfection, they were pretty intent on giving up the goods." Jori Kim: Stornoway gazette "STML are definitely worth checking out. Judging from the power driven riffs and big ‘imaginative and poetic’ lyrical content, this is a band that you need to see live to get the best from them." Rick Fulton: Daily record "Edgy heavy rock, massive vocal sound, tasty guitar. Like a stadium version of the Wildhearts. Well worth catching live." Dave Arcari: Perthshire Advertiser "STML have some balls to their dumb punky riffage." The list. |
