I've seen that one before. The guy dishing out the kickings is a boxer if I recall. Talk about picking a fight with the wrong person.

That's a nightmare scenario though. Imagine walking down a path minding your own business and some twat slaps your bird in the face. There's two of them and one of you. You HAVE to do something about it, and I probably wouldn't think twice about wading in under those circumstances, because rage would get the better of me. But whenever I'm out or whatever and any hint of trouble arises, I try to diffuse the situation instantly, firstly because I hate fighting, but secondly because you never know what sort of nutcases you could land up scrapping with. To be fair, my wife has a bit of a temper on her and would probably skelp the boy back so it would be 2 on 2 in those circumstances.

If I walked past and one of the guys slapped me, I'd just walk away, but if they slapped my wife, I would just have to do something about it, and probably end up getting filled in...

I agree. When some loon starts getting physical with you or your missis/mates, it's always a tough one whether or not you should go to town on the chump. He could be a maniac, packing a knife or anything.

I had a few fights as a kid (who didn't...?), and one or two as a 16 year old, plus the odd flare up on the football pitch, and always felt able to handle myself, but having never been anywhere near a fight for more than 10 years, I've no idea if I'd even be able to throw a half decent punch.
