It's not that bad. I've been offered three (almost 4 but the funding fell through) in the past few weeks. It took me months to get interviews (looking over xmas and January is never good) but things are getting better now that companies are getting their budgets through. I guess it depends what sector you're in (I work in IT).

I wouldn't go expecting a huge salary ala 2007/early 08 though. I took a small pay cut to get a job a really liked the sound of.

I would say that if anyone is looking, then get moving as I get the feeling that this will be the last big batch of jobs up for grabs... it's only going to get worse later in the year.

Mine is also similar... except I just got made full time and on a permanant contract. Quite amusing that I had to have an interview for a post in my team, but it had to be advertised as it wasn't an internal post. But yeah, that's my 'ace-ic' feeling and I think it'll last for a while!

Me also, must be something in the air. Haven't snagged a permanent contract, it's just being done on a month-to-month basis so I have my contracted hours and put Friday's hours as overtime. When it gets to April we'll see what the new financial year brings so just a couple more weeks to make myself indispensable...

I had to turn down a payrise the other week because I wasn't being offered enough. An extra 99p for doing the jobs of 2 folk? Jog on.

Plus, things are going well in my current position, so I'll just ask for a payrise later in the year and keep my current position which I'm enjoying.

My annual payrise comes in next month, which is going to put an extra £100 or so in my account each month. Can't wait, as i've got so many things to pay for... MOT, Car Insurance, Holiday spending money, football/gig tickets.

My Mortgage is about £150 a month cheaper just now, compared to last year... if I didn't have that reduction i'd of been screwed.
