I got a big box of them out of Sainsburys for £2. They weren't amazing (supermarket prawns are always so small!) but they did the job.

I have a bag of frozen ones. Also not great, but decent sauce filler. I had massive prawns as a starter at my Nans weddings a couple of years ago. In comparison, it makes all my meals to this day look and taste like shit. It was just too good.

Massive prawns are win. I recommend you visit the Eagle May Chinese takeaway in the Hardgate and order the special Foo Yung. Essentially a £5 omelette, but the prawns in it are like the size of a fist. They fucking rule.

Glad this thread got resurrected again.

I had a big bowl of mussels in a cream and chive sauce at The Marine in Stoney on Saturday afternoon. Best eating I've done this month so far.

I can't say for sure, but presumably they use the same prawns in that as they use for everything else. I think I may have had a special Chow Mein once with big prawns.

I've been loving a bit of Chorizo lately....just with everything so tasty!! Lidls do a well fine one for £2.29 (ish) - delicious on the BBQ with onions and peppers OM
