Default Blue Tac

Ok...

So here's the problem, I'm moving out my flat at the end of June and I know for sure that when I take my posters down the blue tack or white tack will have left a little disgusting greasy mark on the paint.

Anyone got any ideas on how to remove this without having to paint over it... Which I am most definitely not doing!

Thanks.

How about cunning positioning of picture frames?

Well, that may be a good idea in theory, however since I'm moving out and have to leave it in a very bare state, that's not going to be happening either!

This may be of help, but I've not looked through all of the answers: Does anyone know how to remove all traces of blu-tac from a painted wall? - Yahoo! UK & Ireland Answers

Thanks. I'll have a look at that tomorrow. I did google it, but some of the answers were far too complicated... Like reading the ingredients on cleaning products. I just want a simple method! Lol.

They'll probably have to redecorate anyway so personally I wouldn't give a fuck. It depends how long you've been in there.

There is something that gets it right off, I can't remember what it is though, I've done it myself as well... wait till my Monday morning haze lifts and I might remember by the afternoon.

True, been here 2 years, and we've been very good tenants, so I would hope they wouldn't mind so much. But there is quite a lot of posters and I would very much like my whole deposit back! Lol.

sugar soap or lemon juice! The walls have sucked the oil out. You might not get it all out, but it might help. If its pretty bad, I'd mix a little paint (same colour as the walls) with water and cover up the stain, not paint the whole wall (fuck that!). Might just do the trick for them not to notice it.

Try rolling a ball of blu-tac over it a few times. I know it sounds like bullshit but it actually gets rid of the greasy mark.

Someone in my office says try rubbing it with dry bread, I don't know if that is just an old wives tale but it can't do any harm.
