Default recomended anime

I have just started getting back into my anime and since i know alot of you are heavily into it i was wondering if you could recommend me some films.

I have started with Urotsukidoji (Legend of the overfiend and the womb)
Ninja Scroll
Biohunter
Ichi

I like them to be really in your face and just blatantly disturbed.

I think most Anime is over-rated. I understand the technical aspects of making something like that, but just think most of it's dump. The only Anime DVD's I've watched more than once have been:

Violence Jack
Cowboy Beebop
Metropolis

I suppose the Animatrix counts, if only because there's so many different styles.

Crying Freeman was good.
The Judge was my favourite.
The Guyver was Ok.

Gotta love Vampire Hunter D.
Also agree that Crying Freeman rocked. (Except avoid the live action version its piss).

Guyver was cool when it started then the animation started getting dodgy as hell. Never actually bought the last few as it got so poor it pissed me off.
The live action Guyver has some of the worst acting ever but thats why i like it.

I havent watched any for a while and now i feel the need.

For those who recall the old guyver anime,it was remade last year, staying closer to the comics and having twice as many episodes...not to mention funky new animation

Putting aside the need for violence and demon rape, I think you should give Spirited Away a whirl. It is esentially a fairytale, but a damn good one, and easily in my top 10 films of all time.
