Default Freeview

I live in Mannofield and recently just got Freeview.I receive about half of the stated 30 channels you are supposed to.E4,ITV2,ITV3,BBC3 etc but no Sky News, Sky Sports News, Channel 5, abc1, no music channels and I only get radio Scotland.
I have tried re-scanning for new channels a couple of times but nothing new happens.
Do I just need to get a booster aerial which picks up a better signal?

A booster aerial will help.

Depends on the area you live in etc too though.

A wide band aerial and a signal booster in-line is ideal.
Oh, and there is more than 30 channels, even without top-up tv.

That would be useless unless you lived in a transmitter.

Best thing ot do is buy an aerial and try it out.

If it don't work just take it back to argos.

I had a shit reception when i first bought freeview. I just bought like a £10 internal booster aerial and it's been fine ever since.

a booster sounds like a good idea, i live in airyhall and get all the channels you mentioned fine, so i am assuming mannofield should be no different

I can see channel 5 on my analog connection but it's got sum snow problems.
Bought a signal booster from B&Q at the weekend and it registers some more channels and radio stations but I can't see nor hear them as it says 'no signal'
Any more advice would be greatly appreciated
