My Dad has a friend called Richard Cheese...........and yes everyone calls him Dick (honest!). Sad but true that in times past some parents really didn't think too much about their kids names.

My names Richard and my last names Cockburn. Its pronounced Coburn and i hate that Richard can be shortened to Dick. The end result was me getting the shit kicked out of me at school and taunted my entire life but im not bitter.

True. Fifi Trixibell but i cant remember the name of the others.

Two of my good friends are called Matthew Prosser and Thomas Hunt and they always got called "Tosser and Cunt" at school.

My youngest sister is called Fern so people always assume that the other sister will be callled Heather or Rose but she's not. She's called Rhea.

I can't and wont slag off alternative names as everyone in my family has an unusual name and I like mine, I just think that some people take the piss when it comes to baby names lately. I work for a call center and I've heard some really bad names, but the worst has to be Pocahontas Mc Ginty.

I know a guy named Stormy. That's his real name, he was named after his dad's horse. No word of a lie. He is also violently ginger. Cool guy though!

While working at Aberdeen Uni, we had the amusingly named Iona Gunn and Anna Fair.
Distinct lack of rational thought from the parents - unless they were just really warped.
