Fucking magic, the best martial arts movie I've seen in long time. No CGI, or wire-work, just brutal and creative violence. I want to see more films with Tony Jaa in.

Time for an action-packed low-speed rickshaw chase sequence.

Thought it was pretty cool, probably the best 'martial arts' film out in a while but there haven't exactly been heaps. The belmont synopsis rates Jaa as the new Bruce Lee but our party in the kino reached the decision that he'd make a better Jaa-ckie Chan. The entire room was laughing when he was running through the market and the barbed wire thing appeared, pure cheese on toast.

Good for stunts and the fight scenes weren't all bad (how cool was the crazy dancer guy with the afro?), but they could have totally made more of the story... Guy learns lethal fighting style, vows never to use it, uses it. Well worth checking out, if only for the spectacle.

Weren't bad?! The flaming kick to the head? The helmet-splitting elbow drop?

Yea, but as i said, they're more like Jackie Chan-isms than proper martial arts fights. My favourite part was when he broke the generic henchmans leg, that was probably worth the entrance fee alone.

Isn't all the fighting 'real' Mauy-Thai though? Hence all the knees and elbows.

You're right about the chase scene though - fucking ace.

I got this off CDWow the other day, great stuff! The chase scenes were the only Jackie Chan element for me, the fight scenes were too brutal. What's with all the elbow to the top of the head moves? That must hurt like a bitch.

In the tradition of old Bruce Lee films-crap plot, crap acting, crap script....
But when he takes out the guy in the fight club with one blow you know it's going to be amazing from then on.
And the guy with the tracheostomy is a great villain!
