At what age did your parents let outside to play unsupervised?

I was allowed out on the street when I was about 8/9 but I grew up in Oldmeldrum (small village) and nae the big city. I can't remember how old your young ones are, but I'd be more concerned about letting Keilan out to play on his own personally

As I live in a rubbish countryside village where nothing ever happens, apart from rumours of large black panthers prowling the streets, and old ladies' bins being stolen, I was allowed out to play in my garden unsupervised at about 4 years old. Although I was usually with numerous siblings. And our house really isn't near any roads at all.

Sorry, that was a really useless post.

Playing in back garden...long as I remember. Going out into the big bad world (of Aberdeen)...since nine, wee.

As long as I didn't come back dead, my parents didn't mind if I strayed. Which was odd

We used to have quite a closely knit group of older kids around, so I was out unsupervised near the house (or more often my grandparents' house) when I was about 7/8, you know, just the round the corner/up the road type stuff, then I suppose it gradually pushed further and further as I got older.

i was allowed to play in the garden from a young age, it was fenced in etc
but outside, erm about 7+ i think. where i lived i was near my school and playpark so my parents knew i wouldnt be far.
i can still remeber the day my mum let me go down into the town by myself. this was in thurso mind, not aberdeen
