Anybody know any local computer shops that would do repairs to a Toshiba laptop? Model Satellite Pro 6100, 2 or so years old?

Im trying to avoid actually physically sending it away somewhere...

Be prepared for an awfully un-technical answer...

It won't turn on at all. The green light for the power supply (DC) is on, however the battery led is just constantly flashing amber. I try pressing the power on, and it doesn't click in and power up as it should.

I have tried removing the battery with just the DC power in, and this does not work either. Leaving the battery in without a DC connection, does not work at all, and I know that the battery was fully charged.

If I press the power on, the computer clicks, makes a beeping noise then just dies again... This just started happening yesterday.

possible duff battery or your bios / bootfile is screwed or fudged hard drive

Have you got a boot disk? Would you be losing anything important if you formatted the HD?

Nah not at all... I was in the prcess of clearing things off it anyway...

Just can't even turn the blooming thing on! Hehe!

I need to get my laptop checked too... One of the hard disks is fucked... I don't know much about these things, but PC world aren't exactly helpful and I really can't live without my computer longer than a day - I'm a geek, what can I say.
