Would have cost far less to sterilise his mother.

I find the above quote the most disturbing part of the article.

Good to see people doing their bit to dispel the myth of the stupid American...

Love how at the end they say it's the second time someone's shot a nail into their head without noticing.

A couple of points to ponder...

Nailguns cant "backfire"
Nailguns cant fire two nails at once.

Even if they could backfire, how the fuck could a nail fire into the roof of you're mouth? and without you noticing...!!

Sounds fishy to me.

Well, say it ricocheted off whatever he was pointing the damn thing, and came back at him. (Do nailguns fire hard enough to ricochet?)

He'd probably open his mouth to say something along the lines of "Oh, fiddlesticks!" and duck (maybe backwards?) if the nail entered his open mouth, and hit the roof, there's not an awful lot of nervous tissue there - a thin layer of epithelium over what's basically just bone and cartilage all the way to the brain. It's not exactly a flesh wound... If he didn't find where the nail had gone, and didn't feel it stuck in his head, then he might not have noticed it.

That's speculation running wild, but that's how I see it happening...

I like your theory Paul but it's more likely he said "oh fuck" because it makes your mouth open whereas "oh fiddlesticks" is saidly mainly through teeth.
