i get the feeling whenever i watch the first film that it was simply made to be a film in its self

granted they always had the trilogy in mind but the way it was made i always think that they made it so it could have just been a one off incase it flopped

yeah totally, the first one was a part of a trilogy but it also stood on its own and was really intended just to be made by itself. as far as i gather, it was only when the first one made a complete killing at the box office that the second and third ones went ahead. Plus the Neo 'discovering his true self' plot worked really well by itself as well as fitting into the birth(discovering)-life(learning)-death(understanding) of the trilogy.

I really could rant for ages about this so, im just going to leave now before it gets silly.

p.s. Uber 10 disc box set out in december whoop!
