Default Laptop Advice

Im looking for a laptop that is preferably below £400 and is capable of running games smoothly. Not graphically intense games, just Guildwars etc. Ive seen some dell xps laptops go for £340 on ebay, m1330 or something? Are these good laptops?

Looking for some recommendations as I dont have much knowledge of laptops.

Thanks in advance!

First of all, i wouldn't buy one second hand off ebay, but you could probably get one from dell with Good ram and a nice graphics card for your budget, although i'm not wise enough recommend anything in particular.

Stay away from Celeron processors. Get as much memory (RAM) as your budget will allow.

If your not going for a 64 bit OS don't pay for more than 3GB RAM as it's just a waste of money.

Just a small piece of advice, but don't get a 2nd hand laptop running Vista. The Thinkpads we use at work are Vista certified, yet they take about 5-10 minutes to boot up with extremely poor performance and video driver issues. Disabling Aero helps a little bit, but the whole OS is just backwards to fuck so avoid it like the plague, especially if you want to run games.

Try to get an XP machine with at least 2 GB RAM and you're set.
