Default Flight Simulator joystick?

One day I am going to acquire a private pilot's license and own my own plane. In the meantime, I'm gonna get to grips with Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Can anybody recommend a better joystick than this for similar money?

You could always get an old school joystick:

3 Joysticks WingMan, SideWinder 3D pro, Thrustmaster on eBay, also, Joysticks, Keyboards, Mice Input, Computers Networking (end time 02-Jul-08 02:06:37 BST) (from the states, but a good bargain for 3 of them!)

OFFICIAL TOP GUN THRUSTMASTER JOYSTICK - BRAND NEW on eBay, also, Joypads Gamepads, Input Devices, Computing (end time 07-Jul-08 21:30:42 BST) (for the maverick in you )

I think both of these require a serial port so I am not fully sure how compatible they'd be under XP/Vista.
