That will work with emulators etc?

Im not sure about emulators, but the X-Box 360 controller has served me quite well so far.

i use a microsoft sindwinder for emulators (it has pretty much the same layout as mega drive controllers, with two shoulder buttons). it's pretty old but does me fine.

I use one of these, along with a PS2 controller:

!High Speed Dual PS PS2 To PC USB Controller Converter on eBay

It works an absolute treat with any emulator, and the analog sticks are a bonus for playing some 3D platformers like Psychonauts.

oh, the motion sensor on the sidewinder makes playing Space Harrier a total and utter fucking joy. Awesome.
