Which format are the originals in?

You can compress them using zip or rar

Reduce the height and width

If you want to reduce the size in MS Paint, it's best to go Image > Stretch/Skew

then just 'stretch' vertical and horizontal by equal amounts (using any percentage under 100%, say 70% each time) until you're happy with it. Use edit undo if you shrink it too much.

Quite possibly the simplest application for windows;

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

On that page, go down the right side and download "ImageResizer.exe" which will add a feature to XP which, if you right click on a photo/image file you can choose a size to re-size it to. You can do this to one or multiple files in one go.

Makes life SO much simpler.
