Personally, I think Lou Rawls version of "Season..." is definitive. A Deadloss interpretation would definitely be worth hearing.

we used to do 'season of the witch'. faithful to the donovan version at first, it gradually morphed into a 'quiet bit... fake loud bit... LOUD BIT RARRRRR! quiet bit, etc' type affair.

great lyrics.

I voted for 'Shout', but please note that to the best of my knowledge this was originally by the Islay Brothers, and Lulu covered it. Doubtless some sad twerp will soon be along to check that on Google...

You are correct, Flash. Although Lulu's version remains to this day the most successful commercial release of the song, The Isley Brothers wrote and performed the song first. Legend says that a young Jimi Hendrix played on the session.

Alex Harvey's version of the song is also worth looking into.

I wish I could say the same......all my mother listened to was 'Housewive's Choice'....she got Housemaid's knee as a result!

Mind you, she was quite good at doing 'a-patella' versions of Jimmy Young hits!

I wish people would create more websites full of completely incorrect and misleading facts to teach those googlers a lesson.
