Never mind, though. Martin Scorcese and Stanley Kubrick never won an Oscar, and Malcolm McDowell, Groucho Marx and Noel Coward never even got a nomination, so we're in good company among the "also rans" in the entertainment business.

I'm thinking about starting a new awards ceremony called the Garths. It would be a bit like a negative version of the Oscars. The award would be a little statue of Garth baked out of something brown, smelly, and mostly organic, covered in hair and dressed in an action mans snorkel. Had the ceremony existed this year then Simon would certainly won 2 of them, one for the day we called him an ambulance, and another for the day he quit because Cee-Jay refused to play The Final Countdown.
