Default The Research

I really enjoyed The Research. Their tunes were hyper catchy and they were really tight and querky as an outfit. Very charming. I really liked the triple vocal as well.

Shame I was too skint to buy merch, I'll be getting the album at a later date though.

Yup, I really enjoyed them too. Would it be wrong to describe them as the missing link between Carter USM and the Magic Numbers?

Quite enjoyed the Research - some good tunes and all entertainingly quirky.

Was impressed with Colonopenbracket too, despite their technical hitches.

Big Dave Milne's description of them to me last night made them sound irresistable. Richie's had the very oppostie effect.

Well, I know it might not sound very appealing, but if you take the harmonies of the Magic Numbers and couple it with the standard Carter glambeat then you're pretty close...to me anyway, and I love Carter and like the MNs

Really liked colonopenbracket - not overly keen on the singing, but the music is amazing.

killBabykill would have been better if they'd actually finished some songs instead of playing about 30 1 minute demos. They had loads of good tunes, you just never really got a chance to get into them before they finished.

Are you serious - they had about an hour set. If you didn't get time to get into them then they probably aren't worth getting into at all. How much time do you need?

Besides, since the vocals were half-mimed, I'd have to say that I find it hard to rate this band anything other than very poor.

Sharon Lindsey, singer of the Killbabykill band, was seen by my entire table and several others being caught out miming when she delayed slightly too long to go back into a song.

I say half-mimed because she was singing some sections of the songs

You sure it's not just another member singing like a girl, thus creating the illusion of Sharon miming?
