I looking to do some recording this summer and am looking for any equipment thats going cheap.

Let me know what you've got, anything considered

10 channels in, 10 out, midi etc

I had one of those and was scared of the Breakout Cable!!! - I've never seen so many cables attached to one card. I was convinced that it was going to come alive, crawl across the floor and attack me in my sleep!!!

Great card though - I now have the cheaper Audophile 2496 and it's not nearly as good.

With regard to the original question: -

I have access to a Roland VS Series studio, similar to this one...

Roland VS-2480-DVD (GAK)

...with VGA output for a full-sized monitor.

But it would be around £500.

Dave, i remember you saying you were using the ableton sequencer so this card is probably quite a good option.
