anyone recommend where i could buy a fender precision/jazz bass for a decent price? or even if you are selling one,anything considered.

You can get a standard J or P Bass from www.merchantcitymusic.com for £350, if you don't want to spend much at once they have a monthly payment scheme (about £30 a month for 12 months). This way you mite even be able to afford an American series.

Try Ebay... If you can't afford to get an American model, try get a Japanese one instead of a Mexican one, as I've not been too impressed with those.

ok , here's a cheaper alternative , Fender (made in mexico) Jazz 5 (5 string) , sunburst , tortoiseshell plate , pao ferro (rosewood-ish) board , like new , in a quality gigbag , plays well , very thick sound , yours for a mere £375
