Ok, myself and Angel of Death are both wanting to sweep pick on the guitar. Who will suss it first?

In the red corner- Angel of Death- Can play all of Metallica's solos and songs from Kill em all to the black album. Practices shit loads. Has hair. He is young.

In the blue corner- Hog- Played guitar for 14 years but concentrated on songwriting since day one so his technique is less solo based. Is prepared to have lessons to nail this. Has no hair, is old (is a red wine sipping fucker)

Hard to say - Depends how much time each of you dedicate to it. Something tells me that the youngster will suss it out quicker although I'm wrong about stuff often.

these are your three main shapes, they are in Dminor. change the flat third back to make them major. i find that muting is just as important as the notes, as the idea of the arpeggio is forthe notes to sound seperate. your right palm should cover the strings you have played and left hand (mainly 1st finger) should cover the srtings you havent played yet (reverse this when coming back up). shapes 1 and 2 require you to use what is known as a 'rolling bar' in order to get the desired note seperation.
