here's a quick rundown for those who dont know of Chris Brokaw....
Former drummer/guitarist with the New York-based trio Codeine and coleader of Boston band Come, Chris Brokaw is one of the hardest working men in anti-showbusiness.
In 1997 he formed Pullman, recording 2 LPs for Thrill Jockey and in 1998 he formed The NewYear, recording an LP for Touch and Go. He finally released a full-length solo LP Red Cities in 2002 and has since toured heavily with the likes of Mogwai, J Mascis, Low, Bob Mould and Evan Dando .His solo acoustic LP Wandering as Water was followed in 2004 by My Confidante + 3. Other 2004 releases included his score to Roddy Bogawa’s film I was born, but..., which is currently making the film festival rounds.
“Chris Brokaw has quietly taken his place as one of the best performers in the country... with a satchel of songs that range from white-knuckle intensity to coy humour.” TIME OUT (NY)
“His own songs are haunted and blasted, sustained by the precise violence of his guitar playing.” VILLAGE VOICE (NY)
