Once a For sale thread has got old (few weeks, months, or so) maybe it should be locked? to prevent people re-opening old threads. we've all seen threads reopened from 2005 and stuff before. Don't know how beneficial this could be but it seems a few people have signed up just to contact the person selling something that they probably don't even have anymore.

To go and individually lock threads that have hit an arbitrary shelf life? More time than most of us have got really. Unless the system can be automated I'd say the current system of dealing with them as they come up is sufficient.

Frees up the rest of our time for deleting iphone, blackberry, nokia, spam.

Excuses, excuses... It makes me wonder what you mods spend yr time doing. Apart from Dave of course, as he is spending most of his time closing threads and deleting posts slating Triple Kirks/Exodus
