This should become less of an issue when we move to the new classified ads system, as they will no longer be forum threads.

I actually started the huge task of locking all the old threads in the trading post a week or two ago. Still working my way through it as and when I get the time, but most of the threads which are more than a year old are now locked.
You people don't deserve me, you really don't.

How will this work exactly? Just similar to the threads but responses are all PMs?

How's about putting a button in a thread, similar to the report post button, that would to allow the person who started the thread to alert mods that the item is now sold? I sold a pedal this morning, and wrote in the thread "This pedal has now been sold, mods please close thread", but then it occurred to me that unless the mods are looking for a guitar pedal, they may not look in the thread.

I like that idea, but is it possible to just apply it to certain threads? so people aren't just closing threads when they get bored to piss people off. Not that i can actually think of anyone who would to be honest.

Surely even just using the report button would suffice?

Please please close all of last year's T In the Park ticket threads before that scottmulloy guy resurrects them all.

EDIT - hey you did it already! Nice work Frosty! You were always my favourite mod. (Don't tell Chris that though)

heres an idea.

Is there any way to make the title of the thread changeable for an unlimited amount of time?

example being that the title of my thread is "Guitar Pedal for Sale"

I sell that guitar pedal, I can then go back and change the thread title to simply "SOLD" or something like that. That would help quite a bit I reckon.

Why would it need to be identified though?
It is in the trading post section of the website, the subject would say "sold", so you know that there would have definately been something for sale and now it has gone.

Why would you plan on going back to it? Once its sold, there isn't really much you could do about it is there? Besides, you could use the search function to find whatever you were looking for, if you were that bothered.
