It was just a thought. I spend much of my time these days writing electronic music and I know there are plenty of people who do the same and would be interested. Would be nice to know who else is actively doing it and it may draw in some new clientele. Open the door for collaborations and such.

I don't think it's a good idea to start segregating the forums in those sort of terms personally. Music Discussion and Musicians Corner forums should be able to accommodate such things without prejudice.

It's not going to happen, for the simple reason that we couldn't justify having one forum for a particular genre of music and not for others. There would be an outcry from the folk, metal, pop, indie, noise, post-melodic-cheesecore-grind etc. communities that electronic music was getting preferential treatment. We'd end up with dozens of different sub-forums and that would detract from the user-friendliness of the site, in my opinion.

I think the current setup works pretty well at the moment, and I certainly don't think it dissuades anyone from making contributions about electronic music.
