On the one hand I think it is really funny that admins delete posts which may not shine a bright light on them, but on the otherhand, I think it is really offensive that such an admin might remove such posts in order to preserve his ego and prevent a genuine discussion

in short, Dave is deleting posts which are not against the rules simply because they he doesn't like the content.

If you've been advised to stay on-topic in a particular thread, you should do so, and not carry on posting off-topic nonsense and abuse. That's all I have to say on the matter.
