As quiet as I am I personally think that the thread regarding that band who pissed and hit on that fit bird should not of been locked.
I have seen Rune getting on his high horse in the past and Mods have actively taken part in the debate (Frosty Jack). As always, Dave stops it dead. Poor show, it was the first thread that I really enjoyed in a long time. Offensive? Well apart from keeping a few people in tow, it was actually quite restraint. Im not trying to play Mods off against each other, just an observation. Last edited by Hogisbald; 13-04-2007 at 00:30. |

What you don't realise is that there were a number of posts on that thread that had already been deleted, and the way the discussion was going was contributing to a a bad atmosphere and was not in keeping with the ethos of the site. If people want to abuse each other and act their shoe size and not their age, find some another site to do it on. I'm in this job to keep aberdeen-music.com an important resource for musicians and music lovers, not to play nanny to a bunch of bored shit-stirrers. None of us ever lock threads on a whim. It's even more serious when a member has been so out of order that his or her behaviour warrants a ban. That's what happened in the thread in question, and as I said earlier further action was taken against certain members who posted on the thread. It's not a part of the job I particularly enjoy, but it's necessary to maintain the reputation of this site as a friendly, open community. |
