The sport's forum sub forum is really popular, but the number of threads on such a non-music related subject are really cluttering up the list of new posts in my oppinion.

Maybe a more specialised website should be made for this topic, as demmand is clearly high. It'd keep Aberdeen-Music more specialised and allow people who want to discuss sport a better medium.

Surely a poll may be a better way of finding out if people have the same 'problem' with the current set up...?

I have no interest in some band forums on this site, as well as equipment forums and the like on these boards.... so i don't look in them. Simple.

Don't see what the fuss is about??

So should there be a new site created for those on the General Forums?? Then another on Humour? and so on...

Pfft we all see threads on things we don't like, and there's just a deluge of football related threads at the moment, it won't last forever. It'd be interesting to see what percentage of threads are actually concerned with music.

Edit: In relation to what Ross just said, at least the football threads are of more than minority interest, unlike some of the more musically-related stuff.

i hope you'd agree that they have much more of a place on a music forum than a sports sub-forum does, though?

and after all the fuss the mods and neil made about making this website all about the music again...

Why have a black and white poll when people can freely chip in oppinions and further suggestions in this nice internet forum?

And as for you having no use for equipment and band forums, they still fall under the broad category of 'music'. You seem to be looking at the idea from quite a negative viewpoint: a specialised sports website could offer different forums for different sports...even specific forums for local teams.
