Is there any chance of having an ignore user setting so that you cannot see selected user's posts in threads?

I know this falls down if the user in question is then quoted by someone else, but I thought I would ask anyway.

Yes, it's already there.

Control Panel -> Buddy / Ignore Lists

Yes there is, unfortunately. I wish I could ignore certain people on here but then I would be able to moderate effectively.
