Profanity in the forum?

So over the time I have been a member here, I look at what people get banned for here, and then read a forum full of literature that should have a pg rating, and I see double standards, hypocrasy, and discrimination.
Whats all that about then.

I swear too much in real life. I've decided to try and be more flexible with my vocabulary on here. I will also try it out in real life.

Sometimes you just need to utter a swear word though...

There is a lot of swearing on here, I agree.

And most of the mods swear on here too i'd say.

Neil can put a swearing filter on if it is offending people that much.

Although on the flipside you'd then get people complaining they are being censored.

people will just find ways around the swear filter though, as I was told when I raised the matter.

I dont see swearing as a problem. Racist remarks are rare on here although some people are close to the mark. There are many people who use Homophobic remarks that are IMHO completely unacceptable but all in all, the mods do a decent job here.

People get banned when they break the rules (normally repeatedly).
Swearing isn't against the rules.

Actually 'abusive language' is against the rules on here, and swearing is abusive language.
