They're all over 20. If the Fall, PiL, Pixies, Contortions, the Pop Group and ESG sounds like just another collection of the same ol tired comparisons you've heard a billion times before, then try these: Octopus, steel drum, glockenspiel, bucket, spade, muggings, magic, cut-throats, sharp suits: Dada, Prada, Vagina Dentata.

From the Island of Dr Moreau comes the eccentric, dis-harmonic meta-pop of the Hatcham Social: Absolutely not wanting to sound anything like Pavement, the Velvet Underground, Orange Juice, The Jesus and Mary Chain or Josef K is an obsession which often drives them to stand at the end of brighton pier for 48 hours at a time just to feel the waves lash against their faces. They're also devoted to charity work, finger painting, biting their nails and Curb your Enthusiasm (and not necessarily in that order).
