Stuck between a Rock and a Hard Place.
by Aron Ralston

This is a true Story about a mountaineer and Adventurer who, whilst doing a solo expedition, got his arm trapped under a falling boulder underground in a canyon in the middle of Utah (nowhere). With no-one aware of what has happened to him Aron is subjected to the Human Body's full mental spectrum as he endures a gruelling 5 days underneath this boulder, which include out-of-body experiances, inner sanctury and a meeting with his own unborn son!

After many deprivated hours the choice was clear, die by dehydration, or chop your arm off and hope to survive long enough to make a hospital. The choices made save his life. Very good book, filled not only with the accident itself but with death-defying trips from previous years - including being in an avalanche and being stalked by a hungry bear in hip deep snow!!

Highly Recommended if you like real-life adventure.

''Buddhism - plain and simple'', but it gets kinda tedious so some classic Welsh: ''If you liked school, you'll love work''...which I bought in Bangkok.

[quote=thehunger;671807]I really liked the last book I read by Camus called The Outsider, but he went mad with this one I'm trying to read. Mad.QUOTE]

The Outsider is probs my favourite book though I've only read it once, I was thinking about reading some more by him but I might not after all!

Today I finished The Closed Circle by Jonathan Coe (good but not as good as the prequel) and now I think I'll read Fathers and Sons (Turgenev) or a French book I found on my bookshelf which appears to be about a train. Or something else? Oh.. but first I think I'll read the Great Gatsby so I can help my little sister with her PSU.

I love it when term ends and I can read whateeever I like.

Just read Don Winslow's "The Winter of Frankie Machine" which was a fun read. A slow build that leads to a stunning, fast-moving crescendo. Currently have Richard Brautigan's "Revenge of the Lawn" on the go, and I'm about to start "Neuromancer" by William Gibson.

I'm currently reading a book I picked out of the offshore library about a Dwarf and his human sidekick slaying all sorts of evil creatures.
I thought it'd be shite but as it turns out.... it's quite a hoot.

Gotrek and Felix ... Trollslayer / Skavenslayer / Daemonslayer ..

by William King.

... and I believe the word 'hoot' is under-used and should be heard more often.

I've just started "Killing Pablo" by Mark Bowden, it's a true story about one of the biggest manhunts in history, for this bloke - Pablo Escobar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - who was a bit of a wrong 'un.
