Anvil: The Story Of Anvil
For the uninitiated, Anvil were a metal band from back in the day with a brief bit of success (i'd never heard of them either). Whilst Metallica and the like were making millions, they were not so lucky. Skip ahead a few years and they are still plugging away under the radar playing to half empty bars whilst holding down day jobs. Basically, they go on tour and make an album in attempt to capture the recognition they missed out on.

What a great film. All those people who watched King of Kong after reading this thread, this is your next documentary to watch. It would have been easy to turn this into a Spinal Tap-esque piss take but as hopeless and comical as these guys are, you never get the sense you're laughing at them, even though it is a funny film. Some genuinely decent guys in the band and you begin to feel it's a real shame they didn't make it. Some brilliant moments of honest emotions that tug the heart strings as well as some out and out comedy (the main guy says at one point: "Yeah it went wrong, disasterously wrong... but at least there was a tour for it go wrong on").

I'd be interested in knowing if anyone had actually heard of/listened to the band before this film was made?
