THIS IS THE KIT
This is the Kit is the project of multi-instrumentalist Kate Stables - a lady in possession of a voice as pure and shiver-inducing as the morning dew. Since debuting in Winchester's Railway Inn back in 2002, Kate followed a stint of Bristol living with a move to Paris where her star has really begun to rise.
Rob da Bank invited her to perform an acoustic session on Radio 1 and then released the single ‘Two Wooden Spoons’ on his Sunday Best label and included it as the standout track on the ‘Folk Off’ compilation in 2006. Low-key busking sessions have been interspersed by gigs with Vetiver, The National, Elysian Fields, Jeffrey Lewis, and Jose Gonzales. Now she's UK-bound once again, armed with copies of new album 'Krulle Bol' – produced by John Parish (PJ Harvey, Eels, Sparklehorse, M. Ward) – and released by French imprint, Microbe. Paris' temporary loss is our all-too-brief gain.
The vocal harmonies are lovely, the simple instrumentation offering up a hugely complimentary and unobtrusive friendship for the dazzling voice on display. One of the sweetest folk albums I've heard in recent times. A true comfort.

MORNINGSTAR
Jesse D Vernon’s Morningstar project has been performing live since 1998, playing throughout the UK, France, Spain, Ireland, Japan, USA, Greece, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. At the end of 2005, Morningstar relocated to Paris whilst continuing with a very flexible international line-up, involving themselves in choirs, improvising orchestras and music schools.
Each concert is a cosmic journey through the history of modern music traversing such varied terrains as psychedelia, doo-wop, alt. folk, gothic rock and otherworld music.

"The find of the year...indulge in this sensual heavenly music… a totally decadent experience."
(The Guardian)
“Morningstar took us on a whistle-stop tour of most of the styles of music of the last 100 years and then rocked us so hard that, had I not taken my socks off beforehand, they would have been off my feet like a fucking shot...”
