in saying that, the 5d is obviously pretty good and nikon just announced a fullframe camera in between the d300 and d3 which looks astoundingly good called the d700. bit pricey on pre-order but should hopefully come down once it's released in a couple of months. i'm saving up for one now cause you are right about full frame being the way to go but only if you're selling pictures i think. you don't need it if all your snaps just go on the internet or are printed 7x5.
canon will most likely release a replacement for the 5d either later this year or spring next year which should shake things up a bit. they're also releasing another budget model called the 1000d which should be their entry level one and has slightly lower specs than the 450d.

Yeah, true Dave. Although I reckon you can get decent results from a cheap 2nd hand 20d and a £60 50mm 1.8. Infact, I would quite happily shoot a wedding using just that...however, I don't think it would look to professional.
