Default EA launches free Battlefield game paid for through Advertising

what do you think about that? aside from the fact the game itself sounds a bit crap(more cartoony graphics? in battlefield?) i think this is the future of mass market games and i'm sure microsoft will be watching very closely as they've spoken before about doing thsi kind of thing with the 360.

i certainly wouldn't mind a few adverts in games if it saved me £50 but i'm a bit wary of micro-payments as they seem to be a way of squeezing money for things which should have been included anyway. for example the 800 microsoft points(about £4) it costs for 3 halo 3 maps. there should be strict rules regarding the pricing and implementation of extra content and indeed advertising in games.
