Default Hannibal Rising

Just released this week and currently half-price in Waterstones.

I started reading this last night and I'm hooked.

It's been 7 years since Hannibal and 25 years since he made his first appearance in Red Dragon and Thomas Harris has done it again.

My only critique is that it's a fairly short novel and because it's so gripping I fear I'm going to finish it in no time at all.

The way Lecter kills his first victim at the age of 13 in reprisal for a racial and sexual slur against his Japanese aunt is beautifully written.

If you liked Lecter the man, you'll love Lecter the boy, teenager, and young adult.
