Belfast three piece Lafaro bust onto the stage in ferocious form. Sounding a bit like McLusky strung out on Shellac and The Jesus Lizard, they have many riffs and a huge presence. A set coming down with new songs, occasionally punctuated by older tunes like ‘Climate’ or the fantastic set-closer ‘Scott’, go down well.
The standard of musicianship is second to none, and it’s pretty easy to get lost in the virtuosity at times, but the aural assault makes it all feel wholly genuine. And we’re all loving that drummer.
